You probably won't see and difference between PCI E 1.0 and 2.0 unless you are running TRi/QUAD SLI/XFire.

Tigerdirect is expensive store, Shopbot - Compare prices - Canada - Price Comparison - Comparison Shopping will give you better price for GTX 280, and I would suggest to go with GTX 275, newer tech, equal performance, cheaper/often on sale.

GTX275 or HD4890 would be better choices IMO. And yeah, shop around.

Any card will run fine in that motherboard though. I highly doubt the performance would be any lower than a PCI-E 2.0 board.

Many cards haven't fully utilized the 1.0 spec, and they are releasing PCI-E 3.0 in 2010.

I just pulled the trigger on the GTX 275 Superclocked, the superclocked and retail card were the same price with the same $20 mail in rebate. Are the cores and memory of higher quality on the superclocked models?

The cores on factory overclocked cards are supposedly binned (tested for performance), however some say it's just marketing. I bought same Superclocked card and flashed with next step up FTW version bios, works just fine.

Yep, its like quad cores and 6/8 cores, the hardware foundation is there, however most software doesn't utilize it

whats the overclocking on these cards like without flashing the bios? I don't really want to get into bios flashing the first day i get the card lol, maybe in a few weeks. I take it flashing voids evga's waranty?

yes, it voids the warranty, the better way is to use EVGA Precision overclocking utility that comes with card, also you get free game, 3DMark Vantage code, Step Up and other sweet goodies after you register card.
