Question Window?

Hey Sky, I see you've done this in a Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570! Which means your temps should reflect mine! Or will they? What Side panel did you use (or did you?)? Was it the window or grill or did you leave the side panel off? BTW Nice review - love the pictures!

Side panel closed with the perforated side panel. NON of my cooler reviews are done with the side panel open.

Don't forget to do my HD cage fan mod.

Default Thx

K, I use the window, but I'm gonna cut a hole in it to mount a fan and I also have a 120mm fan on this side of the HD cage. Thx!

Default Wow.

Wow. This thing lowered my eVGA eGe-Force 8600 GTS Superclocked's temps about 10 degrees C! A little big with a fan on it though for my liking if I ever went to SLI.

Talking Thx

Thanx, that's what I was banking on.

BTW - I can't seem to get to the 3D Aurora 570 page - I keep getting a 'page not found' pagewhen I try to go there and I wanted to post pics and info on a mod I did to make the side window tolerable. (actually very similar temps to no side at all).Any idea what's wrong?

Would this adequately cool an eVGA 8800GT 512MB card? I have a spare 1" tall heatsink from an old PII that I can dremel apart to serve as additional cooling for the VRM's. Given that, would this cooler do the job, not planning to push a huge O/C at all.

Sky I would certainly appreciate your voice. Thanks and Seasons Greetings.

With the optional fan installed, yes.

Without it.....absolutely not.

Thanks SKY for the response,

I checked the TR website shortly after my last post and under the column "Compatibility" it says No:

So No from TR? But you said in your review of the eVGA 8800GT SC that:

"The length of the PCB is akin to that of an 8800GTS but the offset of the screws around the core matches that of the 8600GTS."

And you fitted the TR V2 on the 8600GTS in your review of the cooler. So....what's up?

I think I can trust your word, so let me know if I shouldn't. Could you confirm this one more time for me?

On another note, are you putting your V2 from the review up for sale? I would be interested assuming it would work with my card
And yes I certainly plan on using an 80mm fan to cool the card. Will I need to cool the VRMs for sure?
