Default 2 x 9800 GTX+ : Quick Question

I have an EVGA and XFX 9800 GTX+
Will it be ok to SLI them or could I run into issues?

if ur mobo supports SLI, then go for it. Make sure ur PSU can handle it. Note that you might get similar performace in some games w/ one 9800GTX compared to 2 9800GTX b/c some games have crappy SLI support.

Yes you can SLI them.... if one card is faster than the other... they will adjust speed automatically... however, your mobo does NOT support SLI... :(.... Your wife's mobo does :)

You might want to make sure whatever power supply you has enough juice for you to run SLI as well, otherwise, well, it won't.

I would recommend doing what Prof suggested when the wife is out

I was able to SLI an EVGA 9800GTX vanilla with an EVGA 9800GTX+ Superclock with no issues, you should be fine.

You'll be fine. They're the same thing. Brand doesn't matter.

Is that true also for a EVGA 8800 GTS? So i can run a XFX or any other 8800 GTS 512? I have the EVGA and am looking for a SLI brother. thanks :D

As long as they're the same chip you're good to go.

Yeah what bojangles said, it doesnt matter what company makes it, only the type of GPU, the only place this doesnt cross is the 9800GTX to the GTS 250, you can SLI a GTS 250 and a 9800GTX+ but not the 9800GTX... As for the 8800GTS you just need another GTS and your good. Even if the 2 cards run different default clocks aka one is overclocked one isnt, the cards will run at the speed of the lowest card till you overclock them after ;)
