Default GTX280 or HD4890?

I don't no of any online reviews comparing the two but I'm wondering if I switched out my GTX280 for a 4890(specifically XFX4890 850mhz card) would it be a downgrade or upgrade?

In my opinion, they are similar card.

The good thing is if you buy one 4890 now, you can buy another one later (when you'll have the cash) and put them in Crossfire as you have a motherboard that support it. . Plus, you can find the 4890 card at really good price ($218 CAN on newegg.ca for the XFX and sapphire card).

If you just want to change one GTX280 for one HD4890, I don't think you'll get better result.

Not worth it imo. Why spend 200+ on a pritty similar preforming card?

Save the cash, your 280 runs 99% of games out there today just fine. Pick up a next gen card in the fall.

Legion Hardware

I did manage to find a review that included an asus gtx280. It didn't have min fps posted but max fps scores were so it looks like there's no point in switching to a 4890 like the other posters said. I posted the link so others with the same ? will have some reference to look at.

Thanks
