1x gtx 295 or 2x gtx 275?

Is there any difference or is it just for show, will my games run better, will my rendering in 3dsmax go faster if there is 2?

The GTX 275 is made with 2 GTX 275 set at lower clock, but now 1 card will be better because of the single PCB so we don't talk about a wierd SLI in a single card. Many game can't take advantage of the SLI because they haven't been made for so if I were you i'd get 1 card. It also give you a better future upgrade capability.

AFAIK, those rendering programs only use one card at a time.... the GTX 275 has the same amount of shader cores(240) but they run faster than the GTX 295....

For gaming... 2x GTX 275 would be faster....:thumb:

Not to mention price. The Co-Op edition is listed at 595 US on EVGA's website.

I can pick up 2x275 and still save over 100 USD.

Well the final choice will always be your, you see here you have different opinion but both are tru and have sense. You only have to look at what the best choice for me because both card will perform almost the same at all. 2X GTX 275 will be a little faster in game but 1X GTX 295 will be alot more faster in 3d rendering so we come to a little I don't know what to do.

Why do you say the GTX 295 will be faster in rendering? It is still a SLI'ed card and I have yet to find numbers on the CO'op, that shows that rendering uses both cards at the same time.

You know what? Let's go look that up! :)

Yes i see your point martin, i guess i will go for the 295, and i haven't thought about the possibility to upgrade in the future and add another 1 when they are cheaper. Btw what is the coop edition? I was thinking of getting the Evga gtx 295 red

jak3_dude June 14, 2009 09:30 AM

Co Op edition has both GPUs on the same PCB, or basically, "true" dual GPU proc as to two glued together...

theres another thread that show the co op gtx 295, if you want to get a look of that single pcb board. i just bought a gtx 275 and will sli them later on when i feel like spending the extra money
