It sounds like your definatly undecided. As far as gaming depending what games u play on that 17" the card u have is probably fine. I wouldn't pay anywere near $90 for a used 9800gt. Out of the cards u listed the GTS250 would be my preference. But like others say wait for the new cards to drop on the marked and that will drive the current cards down in price.

New cards arent slated to be released till late this year or early next year... thats a long wait IMHO considering you could grab a GTS 250 now at $125 or so on sale and then just resell it for 90-100 when the new cards release and grab whatever card comes up to bat then. I personally loved the performance of the 9800GTX+ (GTS 250) and at 19" widescreen and 20" widescreen resolutions it can dominate pretty much any game you throw at it, while still providing up to 6000 PPD depending on the WU. When I folded with my 9800GTX+ I was getting an average of 5500 PPD which really isnt bad for a card that costs less then $150.

I would say u'll see cards before Jan 2010. AMD dropped prices already on the 4890, gtx275 has dropped also. I'd take a stab at mid fall 2009. Thats all beside the point, the OP has a 17" res with a gts 250 card'll be good for yrs.

My System Specs

Default

I agree w/ upcoast. I used to have a 17" LCD monitor and everything i threw at my 9600GT was smooth, but upgrading to 22" Widescreen monitor partially killed the performance in games. now i'll just w8 till the next gen stuff come out and upgrade :)

I didn't pay ~150 dollars for it, i paid ~80 bucks last August a @ NCIX. Wat a good deal
