Default How hard is it to change the fan in a card?

Just wondering because my 4870 makes a throbbing noise (when set to anything above 33%) that bugs me. I'd like to put a quieter fan on it. Any recommendations as to what make of fan would be good?

If you're going to play around with it change the whole thing. Just make sure it's compatible.

My System Specs

I recommend changing the entire cooling device. When I had a 4870 I installed an Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo which silenced it completely. Now I own a 4890 card and I've employed the same solution again. :)
