That Board is an nVidia Board is it not.....AMD Chip.......if thats the case you should have nVidia Chipset Drivers (nForce Drivers), not to be confused with Video Drivers.(Forceware Drivers)

No the 790x is the AMD based AM2+/AM3 motherboard, its all AMD/ati, I know the name confused me as well the first time I saw them coming out but currently there arent any Nvidia chipset based motherboards out that fully support the Phenom IIs.

The card isn't the problem, we had a computer at work ( client repair ) with the same problemand it was a Asus ENGTX-280. In this system the card wasn't working but pluged in another test system everything cool. Try to chance board, PSU, ram even CPU ( wich is pretty rare ) and nothing work...We finally change the Asus board by a Intel DP45SG and everything goes away now the machine working like a charm. It's not the first time we see these Ghost problem from board of any brand. Try it on another machine if it work then...you will have fun trying to find wich piece is bad in the lot.
