Issues like these are why I prefer to deal directly with the manufacturer and thats why I stick with EVGA.

April 28th Update:

Well, itís been 8 days now and Iím still waiting for NCIX to acknowledge my RMA request. They have been very kind and helpful but this last delay puzzles me.

The video card is sitting on my desk since March 25th

Yes there is nothing worse than shelling out coin and getting a dud. I'm sure we all have had good and bad experiences with all kinds of companies.

EVGA in my opinion though is top notch for products/customer service. I have RMA'd a couple things out of the many pieces of hardware I own from them. The process has always been quick.

Even getting a second hand motherboard, missing an I/O panel they sent me quickly for free. Anytime I phone or email a question they get back to me quickly.

Object, I too was dinged once from customs for an item I already owned, and the package even said "repair / warranty". I took the invoice from the shipment and the products original receipt to Canada Customs and got my $45 back. Why yours was $128 I can't understand. My card was valued @ $300 at the time.

I'm with you SM, keep trudging away for what is rightfully yours!

Nice. I had a similar issue... but I had to RMA it straight out of Hong Kong...then they had told me they don't have any more 4870x2 in stock and offered to give me either one 4890 or two 4870's (1Gb) as my only options. Obviously these options were downgrades...

But glad to hear you have yours worked out!

Good to hear that it's being addressed, even if it did seem to take longer than it should have. I ran into a similar issue with a swiftech pump... manufacturer kept pointing at the retailer, and retailer kept pointing at the manufacturer. Arctic Cooling comes to mind as well when they changed their RMA process to include shipping spare parts for the retailers to hand out.... don't remember what the final outcome on that one was, but I do remember that the retailers weren't all that impressed. :)

HIS only offers a credit for my card, about 400$ CDN I heard. It's not bad. NCIX will send the card to Hongkong and I'm supposed to get my money back a few weeks later.
