My System Specs

Default 9500gt sli

MY budget is low on getting a new PC so I inquired about this one for 300$
Ultra 600W Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64X2 2.4GHz CPU
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
Realtek ALC850, 8-channel CODEC
4GB DDR RAM
2 x EVGA GeForce 9500GT 1GB PCIE SLI Video Cards
3 x 80GB SATA Hard Drives RAID 0

The 9500gt is a budget card but I'm not really looking for miracles. If I can get a smooth fps on newer games at mid-low settings would be fine for me. For that deal, would it be worth it to sell them both and maybe just get a better card when I have a better mobo?
I should note the older motherboard is only PCIe 1.0, how would effect SLI? I've been running a single core, single GPU system for a few years so I am out of the loop.

Those drives wouldn't be Maxtors would they? I have an A8N-E that has serious issues with file corruption when the on board LAN is enabled.

I would try to go with a Intel or ATi chipset for the MB.

Ditch the 9500GT. For $300 you can but a HD4870.

I just built an i7 system and got a 9500gt because I had to save some money. Actually, I tried to switch out for a Radeon 4670 at the last minute but got the 9500gt instead anyway. It's not a great card but it's really not that bad either. I can play Oblivion with most settings on max on at 1280x720, and even at my monitors max 1600x900 I only have to tweak a few settings to get it playable. I plan to upgrade the card soon... evga has a 90-day stepup program that I may try out... but for now I'm pretty happy with what I have.
