Default New Card - 9800gtx+ - I have a couple Q's

I just bought a used EVGA 9800gtx+ from a friend this weekend. Popped it in the computer, installed the cd, runs great.

I have a couple questions.

1) Should I update the driver/forceware? I am not sure where to find which version it is, but the "driver date" is Dec 26, 2008. Where can I find which version I am using?

2) I want to overclock the card. I figure I may as well use the EVGA software that came with it. What is the order of overclocking? I assume do the GPU first, then what is the next step - shader or memory? Am I right in about the process or????

Any other thoughts?

Thanks :)

Yes you should definitely update the drivers. Uninstall the video drivers first and delete the files from the NVIDIA folder in C drive. Some recommend using a driver cleaner.. however you can be fine without it.

You can find the drivers for your system here:

Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

I haven't used the EVGA overclocking tool, but RivaTuner works very well and is used by many.
