Well the review of the GTX 275 vs HD 4890 links here.... Mystery solved?Alright, now that I've read the review, it seems like they trade blows all around, doesn't seem to be a clear cut winner here. The 4890 does have the ace that its hard launch, but it seems to be a high power consumer while idle, sure its load consumption is GREAT, but most people spend their time idling their video cards. Long story short? Its a mixed bag on both sides. My opinion? It comes down to what type of games you play, and your budget. It really seems to be split down the middle, with ATi better at some games, while the nVidia at others. In the end though the 4890 looks like it edges out slightly, even if only due to its overclocking potential( ), and the fact that you can buy it right now(not a paper launch). Its an interesting refresh, on both sides, none the less.

![]() I would guess its so people don't look at the review and then buy the card and go "hey the sticker is different", there are people out there, believe it or not, who would complain about that. You mean MB?

There were issues with Sapphire's packaging / heatsink and trademarks from another company from what I hear. As for the chart SNAFU, that will have to wait as I am having some HDD and exhaustion issues here. It will probably be done tomorrow night. |

Oh man...I seriously won't know what to buy now after taking a look at these reviews. I really hope that more game developers would take advantage of DX 10.1. The huge performance jump with that API is outstanding. I'm going to wait for a month maybe to see if the prices will stabilize between the two, and wait for the hard launch of the 275. There's just so much to choose from right now. I kind of wanted to get back onto the Nvidia wagon last month, but after seeing the 4890 numbers, I'm really debating if it's the best option for the money anymore. SKYMTL, why do this to me? UGHHHHHHH HAHAHAH. I'm just kidding. This is what makes competition good! Overall both reviews were well written and very informative, and as I've been told by robscix, that's how you like them. Punctuation and grammar is for the most part spot on. I never get sick of HWC reviews! They're long, but fun to read and look at! Excellent job SKYMTL.

For the most part although the performance is impressive, I would have to say much of the performance is a result of much improved driver performance look at other reviews. It really does kick the core 216 ass. However it does appear the GTX 275 is faster. It was more or less equal in this review. But with the updated driver on both sides. The gtx 275 is faster. techPowerUp :: Sapphire HD 4890 1 GB GDDR5 Review :: Page 29 / 33 However availability hurts the victory of the gtx 275(and the gtx 285) and generally this generation, NV is bleeding money making such expensive cards at such low prices.
