Anyone figure out a way to bypass 4870x2 powerplay? I usually play games in windowed mode. (I have a 22", 24" and 32" display) One thing I've realized is ATi's cards always underperform when I play games in window mode... (both my 3870 and my 4870x2) Anyone know how to bypass the default powerplay settings on the cards? I don't want to be getting bloody 30~40FPS @ 1600x1050 on all max settings while I play TF2... on a bloody 4870x2! |
I used to use this guide: AMD Game Forums - How do you disable powerplay |
yeah, create profile, edit profile. But...to enable profile, sometimes you must click THREE TIMES before gpu clocks up. It varies from month to month whether it works right away, or needs a few clicks. |
Let me try this again. I tried about a month ago, and it works for older cards like the 3870, sometime for the 4870 but not for the 4870x2... :( Got the new Catalyst drivers so, let me see if ATi did something |
Somewhat works... FPS goes up a little bit, but the card or the motherboard starts making some weird arse buzzing/whining noises... Doesn't seem natural... |
