Default New card for 1680x1050 have to decide tonite!

Currently running a Acer 22" monitor, max res 1680x1050.

I'm placing an order at ncix and saw this deal.
NCIX.com - Buy BFG GeForce GTX 280 602MHZ 1024MB 2.214GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card - BFGEGTX2801024E In Canada.

Its cheaper than the gtx260 core 216, and the hd 4870.

My question is will my monitor hold this card back more than its worth? I'm currently using a hd 4850 which is great for the price. But I've been itching for better performance, namely in crysis.

I could upgrade my monitor later on if it makes that big of a difference, or maybe I'll just hold off on a card a little longer.

The rest of my system specs \/

It's cheaper than the Core 216 right now, so it is a good price for a GTX280. But I have seen the Core 216 for like $200-$220. If you are willing to wait for a sale and save $100 that's what I'd do, unless you are going to upgrade to a really big screen. Than the 280 will be worth it.

looking at some benchmarks for crysis in 1680x1050 I came up with this.

$200 Gtx 260 - $27 per extra frame
$330 Gtx 280 - $23 per extra frame

Looks like the price vs performance isn't all that great over my current card. I think im gunna wait a few months and see what else is out there. I don't really feel the need to game above my current resolution, or a bigger screen.

I leave this thread up in case anyone else comes across the same dilemma.
