GTX 260 vs. GTX 260 Core 216 performance How does the performance of these two cards compare? Is it worth it to buy the core 216 version? I'm planning on selling my HD 4850 and switching to an Nvidia card for better linux compatibility, and I figure I may as well get a little upgrade. I only want to spend around $250, so I'd have to wait for a sale on the core 216. |

Peeking around the reviews here, I ended up deciding on the GTX 260 216. Even ended up switching from a 4850 as well, the performance difference was noticable and I don't regret it in the least :) Probably will be worth the wait keeping an eye on sales and whatnot in the days ahead, maybe some can be PM'd close to your budget as well. |
Thanks, I guess I'll just wait for a good sale on the core 216 version. |

XFX GTX 260 Core 216: $239 -30MIR NCIX.com - Buy XFX GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 576MHZ 896MB 2.0GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card - GX260NADFF In Canada. I want to jump on this deal but may hold out for awhile while I enjoy my old 8800GT. |
I would hold on a little longer , supposedly there is another price cut coming... |
Ugh i just bought a 9800 GTX +SC EVGA couple days ago for 209. Should i return and pay the extra 30 bucks for this EVGA 260? |
Where did you purchase it? I know most computer stores will charge you a 15% restocking fee ($209 X .15 = $31.35). 9800GTX+ is old technology so why pay the same price for something that is older. That XFX GTX 260 looks so tempting... Quote:
