My System Specs

Default 9600gt minimum powersupply
what is the minimum power supply you could use to run a 9600gt. my friends 8500 just doesn't cut it any more. he has 350watt but also has a q6600. if not would a 450watt do it.

What else is connected to the system Besides the Q6600??? Fans, HD's , HSF, Optical Drives, and who Makes the 350W thats in there now?

For my honest opinion, I'd hit up either an Ultra LSP450 or a Corsair400W because both have a nice high Amp 12V rail for their output size.

its probably some no name power supply and it has 2 dvd drives and 2 or 3 hdds and maybe 1 or 2 fans.

My System Specs

Default
Throw a Corsair 400W or 520 and you should be perfect.

The Build I did with a 400W was,
EVGA Board
Intel E4700
4 Fans
2 HD's
2 Optical
nVidia 9800GT
PCI Sound

It worked just fine with that.

So, that should hack what you have described.
