Default 4870 Crossfire

is it worth it? a friend of mine is buying a GTX 285 and has offered me his old HIS 4870 for 150, which is a excellent price since I paid 300 for mine. I just want to know if it's worth it. and could my PSU handle crossfire?

Spec
E8400 Stock
4GB DDR2 1000mhz
Corsair 550W(will it be enough for crossfire?)

my monitor is a 21.6" @1680x1050, Though I do plan on getting another monitor, hopefully 24" @ 1080p or 1200p.

The PS is iffy but for that price, I wouldn't pass it up. I think you could get by with a 550 though.

Your PSU should be able to take that load. Its puts out 41amps on the 12v rail so that should be able to feed the cards and CPU.

Then again, I don't know everything hooked up to your comp. But, give it a shot. Worse comes to worse it won't boot up.

Regards,
ST

It should be alright if you don't have a massive array of HDDs.

But don't expect longevity from the PSU though.
