Exclamation whats wrong with this 9600gt?

Whats wrong with this sparkle 9600GT from newegg?

Why is the memory only at 600MHZ. The official website state that it should be at 900mhz.

I am 100% sure its not the drivers problems nor the mobo. A Evga 9600gt was installed before this sparkle. and GPUZ reading was 675/900/1674. I had also tried the newest nvidia driver forceware 182 and it give me the same stats.

This was tested on window xp before it was tested by me on vista.

This is a first nvidia card that i ever tested.

Those nvidia gurus out there please help us out :help:

RMA it goes

Well we learn a really valuable lesson today , never buy from unheard of companies. We'll stick with eVGA for now

Sparkle is not unheard of... but definitely not a well known GPU company. I bought a Sparkle 400W PSU for a budget build and the thing is a solid performer. It's a SKY approved unit.

Sparkle is a very good company.

@OP. Have you tried clocking the memory at 900Mhz? If it works fine, then maybe it was just something wrong with the GPU BIOS.

Load Rivatuner
Make sure the GPU Memory Speed is being shown
Start a 3D app like Furmark or ATItool
Close said ap and check if the memory speed went up when under load.

Oh, and the Sparkle PSU company is NOT the Sparkle GPU company. That being said, Sparkle GPUs in Asia are akin to the popularity of EVGA GPUs here.

These tools were tested before it was RMA!

I also tried to put 900mhz on riva turn, ati tool, evga precision. Games instant crash at 900mhz memory . 800mhz no go either

I guess they tried to pull a fast one and hoped no one would notice the slight difference. If you post a review on newegg remind user(s) to check the clocks once they recieve the card.
