Default resolution question

i just got a new monitor. its native ressolution is 1680 X 1050.

my radeon X800 Xl has a max resolution of 1680 X 1050. can the video card be harmed or stressed by being made to run at its maximum resolution all the time?

My System Specs

No- It might if it was overclocked and/or running hot, but the only thing you might experience is a little slowness when it's getting a workout. Just keep an eye on the temperature until you're reasonably sure that it's not overheating.

You might find you'll have to turn down sonme game settings to get tehm to run smoothly.

The X800 XL is capable of higher resolutions; 1680x1050 is the highest resolution it will allow on that monitor ...

If you're running at stock speeds, I wouldn't worry too much about it ...

i found the max resolution. its 2048 x 1536. so, 1680 x 1050 shouldnt be any trouble on the new monitor.

i used to like to monitor temperatures of my cpu but the new motherboard doesnt come with that ability.

will have a look around
