Default Anyone know why ATI doesn't do custom game profiles?

I don't understand why this is taking so long other then that EVERYTHING from ATI takes a while to incorporate (adjustable fan speed comes to mind)

I don't like nvidia but I love SLI simply for the fact that I can make EVERY game work with it because I can set each game's custom SLI settings... ATI does not allow this and it seriously limits its Xfire usability.

Is there any reason for this?

And please correct me if the latest version of their driver finally added this.

You mean the TWIMTBP campaign? That doesn't stop ATI from adding the ability to support custom game profiles.

Actually, yes it does, as it's far too easy to break things like Crossfire support playing with the profile. ATi's profile includes things like load balancing, etc, due to the proliferation of the TWIMTBP program. Crysis still doesn't work right...

Anyway, ATI is a unified architecture, and nVidia is not. This difference means that every single app runs differently on each side...it's been like this for ages.

ATI and nV even rendered scenes in the opposite order(front to back of viewable 3D area), so you can only expect so much from ATI....they are very busy reverse-engineering apps to get them to work right on thier hardware due to apps designed/developed to run on nV.
