Default Question about gaming on the cheap: SLI

OK so I have a 9800GTX+ in one rig, and the mobo in that one can SLI. Another of my rigs has a 8800GT in it, but that is a single card mobo.

The question: for gaming (mass effect, farcry2, fallout3) would I be better off to pick up another 8800GT now that they are dirt cheap and run in SLI or just stick to the single 9800GTX+? Obviously two of the 9800GTX+ cards would be best, but that is twice the money as well. Also, the games seem to run pretty well on just the single 9800GTX+ so would I see any improvement with two 8800GTs in SLI?

Please forgive the noobiness here, just trying to work this out so as to stay on budget!

Stick to the single 9800GTX+ and use the 8800GT as a physx card.

Best of both world.s
