Default EVGA GTX 295 Review Comment Thread

Yeah, I know it is a bit late but that is what happens when I am at a trade show and the internet in my hotel room goes down for 48 hours....

Anyways, here is the review, better late than never: EVGA GTX 295 1792MB GDDR3 Video Card Review

As requested, 1920 tests have been added.

Please use this thread for all your questions, comments and suggestions.

Great review as always :) I'm wondering if its worth it to get the GTX 295 and replace my GTX 280, or just wait for the GTX 3xx series.

Heat vents exhausting out the top of the card is a rather novel approach I thought. Many people own cases with fans built into the side panel which might be a good way to further exhaust that hot air without leaving it swirling around the interior of the case. I'm still disappointed Nvidia bricks still have the power connectors at the top of the card though, would it be so hard to have them located at the rear of the card to make cable management a little cleaner? Personally I'm feeling a little uninspired with the 295, not disappointed or elated just myeh...

yeah
but with these long ass vid cards they cannot afford to put the power connectors on the rear, otherwise the length of the cards + the power plugs exceed most mid tower case

Quite a few side case fans push air INTO the case which will cause even more problems for systems with this card.

hey SKYMTL
so is this GTX 295 more of a 260GX2 or 280GX2...? or...260+280?

I would say it is a hybrid somewhere between 260GX2 and 280GX2.

Wow I forgot about the power requirements of these cards...I am running a Corsair 620HX and was thinking of using Evga's Step Up program...I might be pushing the rig in my sig too much with this card if I do
