I'm building up a new system based on a i7 920 with a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 mobo.
I've been waiting about 2-weeks for the EVGA GTX260 Core216 superclocked to be in stock at my local store.
Now, I see they have the BFG GTX260 OCX Maxcore and the GTX280 OC all within about $40 of my original price and in stock today!
for specs, comparing clocks (main / shaders) + cores I guess:
EVGA 260 runs at 626MHz and 1350Mhz using 216cores and 896M Ram
BFG 260 runs at 655Mhz and 1404Mhz (260cores 896M ram)
BFG 280 615Mhz and 1350Mhz, but 240 cores and 1GB memory
So, the BFG 260 seems clocked faster than the EVGA 260 and even faster than the BFG 280. Will the 280 still be a better buy (slower, but more streams and memory). The first EVGA unit got some good reviews, so was my first choice.
Hopefully I can get some thoughts tonight, since I'll change my order and stop waiting.
Since I'm running a 22" LCD that does 1680x1050, maybe the questions irrelevant
