Wonder what the pricing will be.

That seems like a pretty huge leap going from 4850/70 to these, but if they really do have the 512bit bus then I suppose its possible?

I'm still not sure whether to believe these specs although Id like too.

512 memory bus is not that outrageous. My 2900XT I just pulled from my system had that.

Right on.....its going to be fun...all I can say is boys....get your I7's and DDR3 1600 RAM and be prepared for some "speed"!!

1st, go easy on the caps.
2nd, try and have your replys make sense.

Anywho, I definetly second RJ, the next few months are looking pretty sweet (and expensive =O) for next gen cards. My buddy has two GTX 295's coming tomorrow so I'll see how they perform. Not too bad either at $580 a piece considering what the 280's were going for not too long ago. Not sure if I like the whole sandwich card idea, my 9800GX2 left a bad taste in my mouth. Though if they can get quad SLI to not be a total and utter joke (3rd times the charm amitite?) they should scream.

I'm really pumped for the next gen 3xx and 5xxx series, I can't wait to see some performance numbers or reference designs.

Yeah me too.....I've been toying with the idea of picking up the 3rd 280 and Tril Sli, but my "gut" says to invest in an I7!! I'm very close right now to hitting the "purchase" button on this http://ncix.com/products/productdeta...3&promoid=1088
and of course a Thermalright 120 HSF....then the RAM.....oh...then I gotta ditch my XP 32 Bit and get the Vista 64 Bit......oh...if I'm going to install a new OS, should pick-up a new HD...damn $$$$ anyways, gets in the way of everything :)

I already hit that button last night rj...lol...along with the G.SKILL F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI-B Pi Black 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 8-8-8-21 Triple Channel Memory Kit price matched at $280.59 from Newegg and then I decided what the hell and got that 3rd 280 for $350 w/mir....too bad they didn't have the koolance WB in stock, looks like I'll try tri-sli with 2 WC'd and 1 stock and see how it goes. At least I can use the x58 and 1 gtx for step up if the prices aren't to crazy.

I'll believe it when I see it. 512bit memory bus is brutal overkill, when the current cards are seeing hardly any gain past 4000MHz effective. Furthermore, the increased manufacturing cost and complexity involved with a 512-bit bus (just ask Nvidia), plus the fact that the GDDR5 spec still has LOTS of headroom in terms of speed... it would be very strange to see such a thing at this point.
