Why? Other than the fact that it looks ugly, wouldn't it overclock better, runs cooler, and consumes less power? I was considering this too.

An initial test showed that the 55nm GTX260 has some "unexpected" results but who knows whether or not the results are accurate so I would hold off on the step-up for now.

I have seen a review where the newer stock cooler on the 55nm was inferior to the 65nm one, possibly being a factor in higher temps. There is a new PCB design which may also be affecting power consumption.

So yeah, this new card may need a revision or aftermarket work to see the benefits of the new shrink...You should heed SKY's words...

I assume this isn't an NDA situation here as eVGA has already posted this for sale and it is listed as in stock. nVidia still calls this the 260 model, same clocks (so not a exactly a NEW release), die shrink, unannounced/pseudo release revision that may or may not have strange problems.
Not too smooth nVidia.
Still looking forward to the review though.

Same here, Well, SKYMTL just has to package that up short sentence up nicely, throw a few pictures in, and BOOM, the review is done!

Joking aside, I can't wait to see the review, the move to 55nm, even if it provides no benefits, should at least help drive the price down.
