No NDA which is why I was willing to publish the review but at this point I am giving them time to respond. Benefit of the doubt and all of that.

+1 for SKY's comments...I personally think this would be a waste of time n effort stepping up to...c'mon guys, tell me your 260 Core 216's don't already OC well....?....You would really go threough the entire process of Stepping up for maybe 5c cooler and 20 - 30 Mhz more speed on your Core?
Good luck with that...you could very well end up with a Card that runs at the same Temp and lower OC's.

Looking forward to it (not for the card especially, but the reasons why a die shrink increased power and heat)

I'm seriously thinking of grabbing a EVGA 260 Core 216 and thought if the new 55nm panned out to be decent then I'd Step-Up to it shy of the 90 day restriction but.. The only 260 EVGA has that is Step-Up approved is the new 55nm one 896-P3-1255-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 - 55nm. Not really much incentive there to go through all the hassles of shipping and waiting. I guess it would be if I had a 9800 or a 9600. Just seems like the EVGA has a rather small choice of cards that you can step up from.

And thats one of the things about the "Step-up" I dislike, is you cannot Step-up to any other Card other than a vanilla Card. Kinda sucks if you have Cards other than a vanilla and have to Step-up to a vanilla....really wish they would change this poilcy and let us have a real choice...there are always "limitations"...

Evga...
Also you cannot Step-up a Step-up...if that makes sense...you can only step up once.
