XLNT Preview (will some detail no less). Exciting to see further development not at a totally crazy price ($500 US = $600 CDN). Wonder how well this brick will overclock? We'll soon see I guess.
Thnx SKYMTL

I wonder how many PPD this sucker will pull out..10000PPD like the GX2 or will it be more like 2X GTX 260 which would be somewhere around 2X 8000ppd...

Can't wait for it to be on the market. Perhaps that will drop ATI's offering down towards US levels :D
Understandeable that water cooling these 2 PCB cards are harder, but the fact that Nvidia maufacturers offer far better CS and warranty support than ATI's at the moment, chances are you could RMA your card easily with Nvidia than ATI.

Thats what you were waiting for lol

As usual a great preview, Sky I to had a "holy shit" moment more than once . I was especially impressed with the minimum frame rates its show a notable improvement on the side of nvidia and I am happy to see that their making progress in this area.

I do wonder why for benchmarking sake that you decided to include DeadSpace as part of the lineup. While it is a recent title it gets continually blown out of the water and as I said before AA implementation seems miniscual at best. My theory is that AA is only occuring on the character and not the environment that might explain when enabled theres only a small impact on performance regardless of the resolution. Rendering a single character would be far less taxing than the environment its in, we also can't forget that DeadSpace in its lesser form is a port and as such FSAA wouldn't be possible on the XBOX 360 even set at 2x.

I could be wrong I just fail to see its relevance as a benchmark, however it does have WOW!! factor.

Looking forward to full review and hopefully a few more "holy shit" moments to go along with it.

Thanks for a great read Sky, you made my day.

To very big for HWC,

EE

Another nVidia x2 Card .....another issue with heat, as in exhausting primarily into the Case. I'll be by-passing this Card and keeping my 280 SLI until the GTX 3xx Series are released. Just looking at those Benchmarks I believe my 280SLI arrangement would sit comfortably between the 4870x2 and 295.
I've said it before and will say it again....the X2 Cards are simply pumped out for the temporary "crown" while the real monster is being assembled.
As in 9800 GX2 and zero Driver support Quad SLI support. Don't waste your $$$, sit tight!

Nice work SKYMTL, however, as 24" monitors are becoming standard would very much like to see 1920 x 1200 Res.

Nice, I hope the 4870x2 price plummets to $299 due to this so I can get one.
