Default Which is better..

ATI or NVIDIA? I've seen many people say that both are good, so which one would YOU buy a card from? Oh, and XFX is apparently confirmed to start producing ATI cards, so that might change your mind too.

It's kind of general. Read the HWC reviews and make your own choice :P

I'm happy with my gtx 280. If I had to buy a new card today, I would probably buy a gtx 260 core 216

EDIT: I don't really have a brand preference. I just go with the good deals

I always try to support Canadian companies whenever I can(I know they are with AMD now) so I will buy ATI whenever I can. BUT I will not sacrifice power so I am happy that the HD4870X2 is on top(for now).

It would depend on how much money I wanted to spend, as well as the motherboard. If I was going i7, I'd probably go all out with a 4870X2 or SLI GTX280s. But for a 775 rig I'd go with ATI as it gives you the option of Crossfire on an Intel chipset (I haven't liked nVidia chipsets since my buggy 680i)

I am happy with the Nvidia products I own. I know ATI makes some great stuff too. I think I am a little hesitant to go with an ATI solution because drivers seem to be finickier than Nvidia, from what I have read. But they have great price/performance value and if the price was right I could be swayed. ;)

I love my ATi cards, I'm not a blind sheep who follows the masses, and has/will/would buy an nVidia card if it is visibly better or better price/performance ratio. That being said, due to their origins being Canadian(even if they no longer are, due to AMD), I'm a self professed ATi fanboy!

I buy what will work best for what I want to play/am playing at the time I'm upgrading (usually within a price limitation - the X2 was a EXCEPTION)

I had a bad experence with ATI drivers with my old computer at work.
It was one of those "Come get this card out of my machine or I'm never buying from you again!" type thing.
So I've always gotten Nvidia since.

Besides, when I startup my games and I see The Way It's Meant to be Played,
and the sexy whisper "NVIDIA" yeah baby, I got the best!

I've had both. I loved my x800 back in those days and even my 9600XT. But I currently own a 7800GS AGP, a 7950, an 8800GT, and a 9800GTX+, all of which are running smoothly and no driver problems. So ya, you could say I like nvidia - lol, I should say mid price NVidia since none of my cards are cutting edge or anything.

I have no preference overall what ever is the best bang for your buck i will get, although i do like nVidia (xfx, evga) for their warranties.
