My System Specs

Not sure if ASUS makes a 512 version of the card, but I got the ASUS 4870X2 and ASUS provides overclocking software that you may be interested in.

Lets you control the fan speed, monitor temps, override fans, gpu, voltage, etc. Nice out of the box overclocking stuff.
= Riva Tuner = Download for free off the Net, been around forever.

I hate flashing the BIOS just to change my clock speed.
Although I use nVidia, I have only ever heard of folks updating the BIOS within a GPU in order to have the Clock Speeds set at start-up, Riva Tuner provides for Profiles to be loaded, I haven't had a requirement to Flash my GPU BIOS...ever. Be warned, that in most cases Flashing the GPU BIOS voids any Warranty.
