Default HIS Radeon 4830 512MB

HIS Radeon 4830 512MB - New Budget Gaming Graphics Card.

Specs:

Core Clock 575 MHz
Memory Clock 1800 MHz
Memory Size 512 MB
Memory Type GDDR3
Memory Interface 256 bit
Interface PCI Express 2.0

The card is pretty much a gimped 4850 with less shaders. It has 640 down from the standard 800 on the 4850. Everything else is pretty much the exact same as the 4850, except for the price. The price on this card is between the $150-$170 CDN range.
According to reviews this card edges out the 9800 GT in many games.

You can check out some of the reviews below.

At this price point and performance I think this card would a wicked combination for a budget crossfire build.

I really dispise that heatsink design you can even see the outline for the original single slot cooler, now it eats up 2 slots just to save a little on cost. I agree with your comment that it would make a great budget crossfire platform, but if you had the $300+ cash to spend I think it would be best to get a single 4870 instead.

I thought I heard that some HIS 4830s were having "trouble".

Trouble was fixed with a bios update. Some of them shipped with an incorrect bios that had an extra shader vertex disabled. Flashing the card enabled it again and away it went... as fast as that poor little thing can go.
