I noticed you're using a 280gtx with a 5000be3.2ghz. I have a 5600/3ghz with 9800gtx+ native res 1680x1050 usually like to use x2/x4aa and x8af. I'm thinking of taking the bfg step up to a 260 216sp. What I'm trying to figure out is how the 260 would do with the x2 5600cpu. How does your card do with your 5000BE3.2ghz? What did 3d06 score on defaults? What card did u have before and do u see a big difference with the 280 and real life gaming?
Simply put the GTX280 is a monster even the fastest cpus out there still bottleneck this gpu, I'd say its highly bottlenecked given the age of my motherboard and cpu.
What did 3d06 score on defaults?
3DMark 2006 score at default settings were 11825 points.
What card did u have before?
The cards I had before were 2 x 8800GT Akimbo 512Mb SC SLI.
Do u see a big difference with the 280 and real life gaming?
That goes without being said, no matter what I have thrown at this card it seems to play it without any sign of sluggish performance, its just really hot during gameplay.
The card is really best suited for the most extreme settings any game has to offer and shouldn't see a resolution lower than 1920x1200 that being said you are probably best to look at the EVGA GTX260 core 216 its fast and offers the user great price/performance. If in the near future you intend on getting a larger monitor you'll always have the option to SLI them, however I suggest looking at upgrading your cpu and motherboard if really want to see some bigger numbers in 3DMark and in the real world.
P.S. I'll post an update once I have my intel Intel Core2 duo and Quad core setup up and running with some benchmark results.
