Since both have nice warranty, the real differentiating thing is :

-EVGA have a 90 days step-up that you can use to upgrade to a better card if it get released within 90 days of your purchase.
-XFX have a double-lifetime warranty so when you resell it, the next buyer will also get a lifetime warranty :)

But I think you can get the EVGA one for 399.99 at DC right now.

Well, I've had my 2 EVGA 280's running for almost 2wks before one crapped out yesterday so I'm 50/50 but EVGA service has been very good to me in the past so I'm hoping it will this time too. I don't know about XFX service....only because out of the 5 of their cards I've used I never had a problem.....hmmm...maybe I should switch to XFX...lol

I currently have an EVGA GTX280 personally I would get the vannilla and just overclock it to SSC, I have even taken mine to FTW clocks without problems.

Given how often we upgrade our cards if I had known more about XFX I would have probably paid more for the double warranty.

When selling used videocards being able to provide a lifetime warranty for those that purchase it is big selling point imo.

Quality of the card, I dont see any difference.

Service :
EVGA are renowned for great customer service, but I never experienced it first hand.
XFX : I just got a GTX260 ''open box'' and turns out the previous owner had registered it. I called the tech support, 3 minutes wait, 2 minutes discussion and the double lifetime warrenty was given back to me.

Warrenty : XFX wins with double lifetime vs single lifetime

Upgrade : EVGA wins with their special upgrade. Altough, you have to do it before 90 days and they will charge you the full Manufacturer suggested price plus both way shipping. This means at least 20 $ x2 for shipping and another 40 to 50 $ because of their somewhat inflated prices.

i prefer xfx over evga or bfg...

evga is alright... still dont like evga due to bad support service and cant sell video card efficiently ( i mean new buyer can't received liftetime warranty as xfx)

i am pretty sure that xfx does have step up program...

i also prefer XFX's double lifetime warranty over evga's step-up, i made the choice to buy a evga gtx260 core 216 SC simply because of availability. i couldn't find anyone that had an XFX gtx 260 or the 260 xxx version in canada (at a decent price), i asked the guy at DC and he told me it would be a while before they had any so... i went evga for now. i'm probably going to sell this evga when i got the $$ to buy a XFX gtx 280. :)
