9800gx2 - question

i am sorry to say... i am so noob about how sli works...

i want to know how it works... if i open the movie and it plays... will it will be on sli mode or just single or whatever?

if i play the game then it will be on sli mod... of course...?

if i regular surf the internet or whatever... will it use single 9800gx2...


please tell me if something i actually dont know?

Actually something id really like to know as well, ive always wondered if 1 9800GX2 shows up as SLi, or a single card in GPU-Z

Yes, like the 4870x2, it shows up as two GPUs, so it runs in SLI mode.

run sli mode at all of time? i dont feel it like it did...

is there any software that i can configure... like single or sli mode... to save power and other ( like just surf the internet durning sli mode..?) >.>

Its in Ntune. Theres a section to select either SLI or dual monitors. I always have mine in dual monitors, cause obviously, i have 2. :P I wish they would make SLI support with 2 monitors. Anyways, im not sure what part of ntune, as im on my laptop, and not on my desktop. I can check tomorrow morning if you haven't found out by then.

i heard some bad rumors about ntune... is it recommend or not?

It's nothing really special. For overclocking many prefer Rivatuner, I know I do.

However it's necessary for some things ie. enabling or disabling SLI. As far as I know there isin't a 3rd party program that can do this.
