r2900 series to be launched on May 2nd The release date (which will be a soft release) for the r2900 series has been moved ahead to May 2nd instead of the 14th, while the HD 2400 and 2600 will be released on the 14th- at which point the Radeon HD 2900 XT, which will have clockspeeds of 740MHz core and 825MHz for memory, will be available for 399 USD. |
Is this information from this Inquirer article? Get an R600 date with Daamit I think the Inq has changed their dates about 6 times in the last two months. Maybe this one is a bit closer to the truth considering the date they quoted is less than a week away. |
No- It was released by AMD, and is on a few sites. |
Hmmmm.....can't find anything about it on the AMD website, nor in their press releases. Maybe they just haven't updated their site yet. |
All this speculation and bogus information is sure alot of press for AMD/ATI. Good, bad or indifferent, their upcoming releases are becoming so anticipated that it is all you hear about. I really believe it is a PR move by AMD/ATI to steal Intel's press for their massive price drops. If you can't beat em, kick em in the nads and then again while they're on the ground! GO AMD/ATI!!!!!! |
so.. does any one have one of these yet?? i want to know if i should get it or not.. sounds like its a pretty good card for the price! |

Definitely not worth that much! |
I'm expecting the outlook to improve for these cards with better drivers (perhaps over-optimistically), but if I was buying a card right now, I'd go for it- just because I like to take the risks on new products and underdogs. |
i'd just like to see what other people have to say about things that just the official reviews. so i thought that some people on this board might have tried this card out already. |
If I be not mistaken, I think there be one amongst us who be sampling the goods presently.....;-) |
