oops believe it or not, i was trying to link to this stuff (which is one line above the stuff i linked).

the crucial looks good to me though, thanks i think i still have an order pending with dc so ill see if i can just add this to it.

now my next question is, if it turns out the board really doesnt like my ocz reapers(i cant use them at all), what should i replace them with? i have seen a lot of people using ocz stuff with this board but mine is a bit older and may be using different chips. i saw a post where a guy was using this mushkin kit and getting nice results...(lets double check that link shall we? ). anyone here have the board, and some first hand experience? i like the look of the firestix used in the hwc review, but they cost more than the board itself...

well heres a little update. i borrowed a stick of crucial ballistx yesterday off my buddy and it boots fine in my system, but no matter what i did i couldnt boot my reapers. so i borrowed this stick for now and ordered the mushkin xp 4 gig kit linked above (thanks 3.0charlie). right now my friend is using my reapers in his system so im not sure why i cant use it but (after a slight hit to the wallet) everything should be fine when my new kit gets here.

on a more pleasant note, i got my little cooling mod finished (hopefully post some pics at some point soon) and all my fans installed, wires managed and my vendetta 2 showed up about a half hour ago

i just installed windows on this thing and im running it through windows update and doing my drivers right now...with any luck my ram will be here tomorrow or the next and ill start trying to push this motherboard around a little.

yup. i started at 1.9 and moved my way up to 2.2v with everything on auto. my mem is rated at 2.1 i think. after that i also loosened up the timings, tried to manually set it at its stock settings, slower than stock, and i tried all the auto settings for 667, 800 and 1066. i also tried one stick, and different slots solo and pair because on my 680i it wouldnt boot in the first channel slots, but nothing would work.

That pretty well covers everything then... might be a secondary memory timing that needs a specific setting, but it's hardly worth fighting from this point to find a sweet spot.

yeah i was kinda worried about that happening to them, but so far they seem to be working in another system (i think it was a p5k mb). they were working fine in my 680i, but that thing was on its way out.

installed/booted/slightly overclocked already without a hitch
