now i am puzzling... asus p5q-e uses intel? interesting.... OR you mean you use laptop... i am confusing ????

please provide good specification of your computer/laptop... i misunderstood at big time...

I use my desktop thats in my sig.
my laptop is not the issue , its my desktop

I tried using that Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility.
but Vista is not supported. so will not work.

Edit found the drivers for the SM bus controller will see if that will help

really does not work. vista not found.
Support Intel
but no worries got it, I uninstalled all the drivers from the motherboard and re installed them and now that works ok
