If they seem like ok heat sinks I would not worry about it. Basic ones are just a block of metal so, even if these are knock offs, it is kind of hard to get it wrong.

About the amount of TIM, at least there is still enough of it to cover the actual core area in the center, which is the most important area - If I were to put arctic silver i would not cover the entire area either - but my concern really is that someone switched HSF - and the fact that one of them has a fan that cannot be removed and is loose - so guess I should buy a lottery ticket

I was actually lucky to get the 2MB version - most other stores including local ones here have run out of stock and carry the Brisbane - So as long as the CPU works I'll probably end up using AC5 and an aftermarket HSF should this one not work properly, but meanwhile if someone else here has had one of those different HSF I'd like to hear from them :)
