Long shot? Heck, you might be on the right track. Test for stability, 24 hours. Then re-install one KB, and test again. Do so until the rig becomes unstable - if indeed the KBs are the culprit.

Unfortunately I already encountered the instability again while I had the updates uninstalled. I did find three drivers that were out of date. I had success in updating the Realtek and Nvidia drivers, but I have not found an update for the following: Intel 82801 PCI Bridge 244E, ver. 5.2.3790.3959, dated 01/10/2002. The Intel auto install utility keeps saying that it has totally updated the chip set drivers but "Driver Detective" keeps saying that this one is out of date.

Finally found someone else that was having exactly the same problem as me with the same mobo and ram.

GA-P35-DS3L problems with crucial ballistix 1066 ram - TweakTown Forums

Hopefully I have found a solution. I think MushkinGreg just got a new customer.

Are you saying that the Balistix and the DS3L are not compatible?

I can't say anything for sure until I've tried some different memory. At least the post about this other fellow's problem gives me hope that the memory is in fact the culprit because I have gone through every other possible hardware and software issue that I can think of.

I'm only running two gigs of the Ballistix right now and it seems to me that the blue screens happen far less often. I've tried swapping sticks around and no difference (4x1).

Memtest is also inconsistent. Sometimes the memory will do an eight hour pass with no problems and other times I'll get lots of errors.

I've been over the mobo with a magnifying glass more than once and no visible problems. Temps are very good. I believe that I'm running +0.3 on the memory and I've tried many combinations (I'm not at home right now to check).

So I think I'll pick up 2x2Gb of Redlines and try it out. At this point I don't think it could hurt and it might save my sanity.

I've only used Mushkins on my Giga boards, and never had any problem.

The stop code and information on the BSOD should be in the event log. If not, you can turn up the logging settings in "System Properties" or disable the automatic restart on crash so you can read it.
Yes I'd agree, luckily I had those old models of Crucials. Tbh, these crucials aren't too bad, I have tried mushkins, but those were the DDR sticks, PC4400, man I had fun overclocking my Opteron 165, though I had one of those not so good models of the processor. I got these Crucials for free, Crucial was the main sponsor for our team, and some of us happened to be chosen to get then, so I might sell them, and buy the Accents..

Default Problem Fixed

Four complete memtest passes yesterday and now have over 24 hours of continuous non-stop Boincing on both cores at 100% and no blue screens or hiccups.

HALLELUJAH! PRAISE BE TO MUSHKIN!
