Default if it doesnt work...

rather than spend too much getting this to work if the CMOS jumper fails, I'll probably do some more research and build my own in the future...seems to be too many problems with OEM machines and the emachines tech support is not the best. thanks for the advice...cheers

Default update

the technician did flash the bios so looks like this is a no go and ill be getting a new mainboard.

There are a couple of decent (well there were 4 years ago... :) ) computer shops in the greenwood/kingston area of town.

The other possiblility is if you want to extend your range a little bit.... you could order the stuff from HFX, pick it up early on a saturday and I could give you a hand building it at my place.

It's a bit of a trip, but I'm fairly handy with a build and I've got a fair bit of experience with S939.

Hi, thanks for that. Im waiting on my tax return-was going to use the extra to finance the extra bits. I dont mind wondering out a bit so will post a note when im ready to go. theres been lots of good suggestions for parts...this is a good board!
