Hello, I am new to the forum and I want in a couple of months to place a order on some computer parts. On directron it says that Asus M2N-E supports dual channel ddr2 800..etc on directcanada it doesn't says anything about technical specifications. Could you enlight me if it is the same motherboard ?
Welcome to Hardwarecanucks.com Forum! :thumb:
Might want to provide some links so that we know the exact one your talking about! :bleh:
Here it is the actual motherboard that I intend to buy: ASUS M2N-E AM2 Motherboard, nForce 570 Chipset AMD Socket AM2 CPU Dual DDR2 800 PCI Express SATA RAID Gigabit LAN-Best Computer Online Store Houston Buy Discount Prices Texas-Directron.com
and the same I think from canada: ASUS M2N-E ATX AM2 Nforce 570 Ultra PCI-E16 PCI-E4 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA RAID Sound GBLAN Motherboard - DirectCanada
(only that they won't show any technical information about it)
I want to know If It worths to buy all the parts from a canadian shop or if I find cheaper ones to buy them from usa.
P.S: The computer parts that I want to order from directron are: motherboard: asus m2n-e nforce570 chipset 99$
cpu: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+
Video Card: XFX GeForce 7900 GS Extreme Edition 189.99$
SOUND CARD: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 25$
Case: Antec Solo from canadacomputers 99cad
powersupply: antec neoh 80$
RAM: OCZ PC2-6400 Dual Channel DDR2 Gold XTC 800Mhz 2X512 139 CAD memorydepot
HDD: seagate 16mb 500gb 7200rpm 140cad directcanada
P.S. i know maybe this isn't the place for this topic but I'm new.
Everything looks good to me. Both are the same board i think. I don't have much time but i think they are both the same board. Oh and buying stuff from Canadian shop is worth if you are in Canada. Heh :bleh:
Welcome to the to HardwareCanucks.
Yes it is the exact same board. Yes, it does support DDR2-800.
Direct specs from the Asus web site
If you are in Canada, defiantly order it from Direct Canada. My question is why don't you go for the ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe ATX AM2 Nforce 570 SLI for an extra $46.44?
Personally I would make the following changes:
Video Card: If you are not going to do SLI I would opt for the Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro for $205.20 as it's been proven to be faster than the 7900GS
Case: Coolermaster Centurion 534 ATX Tower Case - $52.92
PSU: The Antec NeoH is for that cheap would be the $430W. I would suggested getting the OCZ GameXStream 600W - $96.79
Ram: OCZ Platinum EL XTC PC2-6400 1GB 2X512 DDR2 CL4-5-4-15 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit - $93.98
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA2 3GB/S 7200RPM 16MB Cache Ncq Hard Drive - $91.98
I'd try and stay away from the Canada Computers they are bitch to return things to and their Customer Service is crap. I have boughten from them and never again.
Radeon x1950 Pro is indeed more faster than 7900Gs but most games are optimized for nvidia, i don't know really what to chose I would like more opinions please :)
As for the case, I don't really like it I am going for Antec Solo.
the hdd is kinda small i would go for the 500gb one :p
Edit: What's the difference between Asus M2N-E nforce 570 chipset and this ?
I want to know if it worths to buy the sli one or not, and if the power supply is silent
If I change the M2N-E for the M2N sli I can't buy the OCZ Platinum XTC PC2-6400 1GB 2X512MB DDR2-800 CL4-4-4-15 dual channel. I am a little confused right now, to change the mainboard and get the ocz pc2-6400 ddr2-800mhz with the 4-5-4-15 latency or don't change it and get them with 4-4-4-15 latency.
up or smth....
The two main things we need to know are:
1. What is your budget?
2. When do you intend on purchasing the parts.
If you do not intend to purchase the parts for another couple of months, you can take what we tell you now and throw it out the window as there are going to changes coming within the next few months. In all honesty I would wait until NVIDIA releases the 8600 Ultra as the specs on the reference card look very interesting and it is going to be around $200.
Details GeForce 8600 series surfaced
And the prices on the 8800GTS may drop.
Do you intend to over clock, because if you do, this opens a whole other can of worms. Right now AMD hasn't proven it is worth getting the AM2 socket. I'm a huge AMD fan and at this point I would honestly switch camps as the C2D has proven to be a better overclocker.
Regarding the memory, I suggest you search on reviews to see which one is better. I would say it would almost be worth it do run 2 GB of memory but that depends on your budget and the OCZ power supply in different reviews have posted loudness at around 35 db under load, your graphics card's fan will be louder than that.
My budget is around 900-1000cad.
I intend to buy theses parts like a month from now or so, and I don't intend to overclock. From your point of view does it worth it to change the Asus M2N-E nforce 570 with the M2N sli deluxe ?
And I'm still not full convinced why should I purchase the Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro instead of XFX GeForce 7900GS.
all my friend have x1k video card and when compare to my rig its nicer the light effect appear to be more realistic and all
and you shoudl order from direct canada if you have over 300$ you will get free shipping at leasti got it last week when ive placed my order
