If you were running the memory at 7x500 FSB before with your E6550, it should be fine running at 9x450. However, I had to get some PC8500 mem myself to get my machine to hit 4.0 as my old ram tapped out at 430 fsb.

As for suggested max voltage, I wouldn't go over 1.4V reported. Temps, I'm not comfortable with anything over 65 deg at load myself.

Take a look at this, I have some in my machine. $100 for 4GB DDR2-1000.

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...L&promoid=1020

Should be fine unless you're planning on running a 550+ mhz FSB. I've got mine running on a 2.4 multi at 1068 mhz with stock timings at 2.1V. Your mileage may vary.

Well I just tried to OC it again and no luck, I had it running at 3.9GHz but all my programs would crash.
Even when I ran orthos lasted maybe 12seconds before it gave me a error message.
I hope the new memory I ordered will help this.

OK, so I got my new ram in G.Skill F2-8500CL5D 4GBPK CL5-5-5-15 2.0-2.1V
Now i have it running OK with my old set up which is in my sig still.
But now that I have new memory in I get blue screen again
now my set up in bois is,
my memory is running at

5-5-5-15 1:1

Ai OC manual
CPU ratio manual
9 X 412 = 3708MHz
ok now my voltage is

CPU V 1.2750V
CPU Reference is Auto

CPU Voltage Damper Auto

CPU PLL Voltage Auto

DRAM Voltage 2.0V

FSB Termination Voltage Auto

North Bridge Volt Auto

North bridge Voltage Reference Auto

so should I be changing anything here or what.
have it running at stock right now settings
I know some times you do not get the best cpu for OCing but never seen so many errors before.

Try changing your Northbridge voltage away from auto. It should be probably +.1 or .2 volts over stock. Your vCore is 1.275? You'll probably need to bump that up over 1.3V to hit 4.0 Ghz. My machine reports 1.32V at load in CPU-Z. I've got my ram running at 2.1V as well.

Good luck.

ok so now my systems crashes every 5mins.
the core temp reads the correct set up and the cpuz reads wrong set up in bois.
