Should this be off or does it really matter?

Was the Lan dropping connection constantly since you've had the Motherboard?

I've found in the past that Windows update has replaced drivers on my system to newer versions when in fact older ones from the Motherboard producer work better because they aren't generic reference.

As for if it matters, with the proper driver it should wake up when there's a request for LAN Traffic from the Network card.

Should the system not be using the right driver it's better to set it to OFF. the "Power Saving" isn't worth the hassle of not having a reliable network connection and is really only noticed on a Laptop because you're running off a Battery.

Suggestions:

What can you ping when you say your internet connection goes down? Router? Other devices? An IP outside the WAN?
What does ipconfig /all say when your connection works and when it doesn't work?
Are there any errors/warnings listed in your event viewer that are network related?
Have you tried rolling back to an older driver or installing a newer driver?
