Default computer turns 'on' but no POST or video signal

Hey guys

I recently swapped the motherboard in my computer because the previous one was done and once i finished assembling everything, I turned it on: all the fans are spinning, the LED on motherboard is solid green, hard drives spinning...

except: no signal to monitor :S

I removed all the RAM sticks and tried same exact thing...and still no beep sound from the bios

could it be another faulty motherboard?

Is there a PC speaker to even get beeps from the bios if there were any errors?

What video card are you using?

The ram could be incompatible as well unfortunately.

Can you post the components in your machine: ie: old motherboard, new board, cpu, video card etc..

oh I didn't know you had to connect a speaker to the pc to get bios beeps...well anyways i just connected my speakers to the 'front' jack and it still didn't make a sound

everything is the same as my sig except the motherboard is now an asus p5q, and im using the stock heatskin/fan instead of the one by thermaltake I had before

I would check that you didn't forget to plug one of the 2 power cables to the motherboard - specifically the 4/8 pin power to the cpu socket. Also check that the cpu is seated properly, and the motherboard tray standoffs.

the 4/8pin: i connected all 8 where as before on the previous board i think it was only 4 pins connected. Does that make any difference?

everything is plugged in like the cable to your monitor cable to your vidcard ? make sure all of your connections are plugged in the . maybe even check to make surethat your CPU is seated properly and if it is then maybe pull the motherboard out and test it outside the case like set the motherboard on the motherboard box that came with the motherboard and test it

In regards to the 4/8 pin, sounds like you have the 8 pin correctly attached. If you don't get it going, you can bring it over to my place and I'll take a look at it.
