My System Specs

Default Long continuous beep while running furmark

Ok, something is strange here. I have been running some test on my new video card because I found it to be louder than expected but I discovered a weird problem in the process. The problem seems to be the CCC Overdrive. While running furmark I get temps up to 78c while leaving the AMD Overdrive set to on but no overclock. Everything runs fine when I do this (fan speed ramps up to 100%, temps are 78c max). When I turn off the AMD overdrive my temps go up to 78c as well but I get some sort of bios continuous long beep warnings until I shut off furmakr. I checked all temps/voltage and fans and they are all within the normal running ranges but I cannot run furmark without hearing this long continuous beep when overdrive is disabled. I even updated my bios with no effect. All other system temps are fine (cpu never got over mid 40s, system temps in thirties). Specs are listed below.

Searching the interwebs comes up with two possibilities, either the card is making the noise due to not enough power being supplied (doubtful since I am using a fairly new Corsair 650 watt PSU right now) OR it is my UPS complaining about the load. If it is my UPS then why is my system drawing more power when AMD overdrive is disabled?

I think but am not totally sure that what they are saying is that you might need to bump up the voltages a tiny bit.
I have never heard of this occurring before the only time I have ever heard beeps is when I have aproblem when booting up the PC not during tests or any other times strange.

These cards are voltage locked from what I understand so turning the AMD Overdrive on or off should not change the voltages but I will look and see what it says when running the tests with it on and off.

LOL, nope, not even close. All system temps are normal and GPU only hits in the mid 70s celcius. I just ran some more tests tonight (it is a few degrees cooler) and looked at my UPS and it is was hitting 99% load so I have a feeling it was hitting 100% load the other night and giving me a warning.

Ok.....What exactly is making the sound ?

If it's the video card , it's bad power.

If it's the mobo , you'll hafta look up that code for your bios.

If it's your UPS it's overload.

Batteries are fine (just replaced 6 months ago. I just think the UPS is getting old and it cannot supply the power it is rated for anymore. Going to get a new one soon.
