But it also involves variables like the quality of PSU in the working PC, but it's six of one, half a dozen of the other..... if he brings the working PC over to the outlet and it doesn't work either then he'll know that there's bad power at that outlet.

i have the pc plugged into the same outlet for 2 hours and no issues so far....knock on wood. Its an asus computer and they told me it would void the warranty plus its got a warranty void stick on the side of the case if open. any other options? I will also add that even though the computer is frozen and the screen was all messed up..the computer is technically still on ie fans are running and lights are on.

So to me the logical thing to ask is what can fail in a pc but still have the rest of the pc on?

so you can't open the case or you'll void the warranty? Am I reading this right? Gotta be able to keep it clean.... just sayin...

Take it back to where you bought it if this is true...

I wouldn't know what else to get, I think based on my experiences with building my own or getting someone to do it for me, id prefer not to do that. And where I live there are not that many "performance computers available for sale except hp haha)

Maybe I have missed something, but I wonder if his disk issues might be more related to a bad shut-down as opposed to a bad disk? I am wondering if this is a case of bad GPU that caused a bad shut-down. Might explain why his issues were just GPU-related at first, and all of a sudden bad system files.

thats a possibility since I had to reformat already 2 times becuase of system hangs but coupled with this, I think i5t could be a hdd issue and a gpu issue but in not a technical person lol.

Side Note: the other computer I had is terrible its one of those rog tytan computers got it from staples yesterday for 2100 it has false advertising says liquid cooling its really 1 fan lol? so temps are 90c under load, don't you think ethics would come into play knowing that and still selling this
