Give me 5 minutes, I gotta go fire up my 650i machine upstairs to check a couple of settings.
Under the CPU tab it shows Voltages
CPU Core: 1.225v
CPU GTL Vref boost: 0.000v

And heres a screenshot of the RAM page in case it helps

OK, my 650i shows Cas as tCL. that should be at 5, and all your other memory settings should be fine.

MCP voltage should be 1.5 or less, SPP 1.6 or less as maximums.

Your CPU probably defaults to 1.125v or 1.25v, leave it there unless you plan to OC. NEVER GO OVER 1.4!!! At least with this 45nm chip.

CPU is fine for stock. And use the VB image host above, they come out much clearer. I can't make out your screenie. (edit: nevermind, user error on my end, not used to this machine) Your settings look good.

Stay away from GTL unless you know what your doing. Anandtech blew up a QX9650 by mucking with that setting IIRC.

Yea I was wondering if your browser was auto sizing and condensing the image xD. I cant see a tCL value you mentioned though.

Oh, and while Nvidia Control Panel is fine for checking your settings, be cautious about using it to CHANGE your settings. If you set them in the bios screen, you know they're changed. Not too sure about the control panel. I've heard of people having problems.

tCL = Cas Latency. Shows up in an odd spot in control panel. It's probably under tCL in your Bios though. So you are set at 5-5-5-15.

Hope that's enough to get you going, I've had a loong day. Feel free to PM me or post in this thread if you have more questions. I just won't see it before tomorrow.

But your CPU and Ram are now running where they should.

Yup looks like I'm good to go! Time to download some of my Steam games and try them out. I'm upgrading from a p4 3.0ghz, 1gig ddr 400 ram and 6800 ultra so should be a huge change :D.
Thank you so much for everything SugarJ. You rock! I would have been on google for god knows how long trying to figure out how to set everything up if you hadn't helped me out. Take care =)

Check my Signature below, also running the Evga nforce 780i with the E8400.

for some reason the 780i and E8400 default to 333. 3 Mhz x 6-7 Multiplier. i had to physically change the Myltiplier to 9x in BIOS to get the actual 3.0 Ghz....looks like you got that covered no problem.
As for CPU Voltage (vCore), as mentioned earlier, leave it set to "Auto" if your not planning on OC'ing.
If you are planning on OC'ing their are a few of us here with the same MOBO / CPU that can provide some guide as to Voltages.
SPP is your Northbridge, leave it on "Auto", even OC'ing I have managed 4.0 Ghz stable without upping this from 1.4v to 1.45v (will only increase heat further).
MCP is your Southbridge, again leave it on Auto.
As for Memory, my 780 i defaulted to 5-5-5-15 2T @ 1.85v for my Crucial Ballistix Tracer which is normally 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.0 - 2.2v.
I did change (tighten) my Timings but also had to increase Memory Voltage (or it would not boot into Windows)
Presently my Memory is set to SLI enabled "Expert" 4-4-4-12 1T @ 2.15v. However I'm going to be installing my new 2x2GB Mushkin so will be playing around somemore.
I think thats about it....any questions don't hesitate to ask...Oh yeah, I had a number of discrepencies between information from nView / nTune, BIOS, HW monitor etc, as well as Temperatures of my Cores.
I do not use nView / nTune at all, as a matter of fact I have uninstalled it all together and only change settings in the BIOS.
There are issues with correct Temperatures utilizing various Programs to monitor these Temps for the Wolfdale E8400.
I monitor my Core Temps with both Core Temp and Real Temp. these will show a 10 degree (c) difference, but so long as the "highest" is monitored and it doesn't go above 65c I consider it safe.

Anyhow, welcome to the wonderful world of the (Linked and Unlinked) nForce 780i...enjoy!
