My System Specs

Default Bent Socket Pins - Can they be fixed?

so i'm looking at this motherboard on ebay. they're selling it for $20 but, it has bent socket pins.

do you guys think this is something that can be fixed?

Very easy to fix just takes time.

Eldonko has fixed a few of these, I have done the same as well.

Just fixed a Gigabyte board that was even worse then that and its my main system board now.

I would say worth $20 for sure :)

I have fixed a few sockets as the one pictured, using a 0.5mm mechanical pencil (without the lead inside obviously) and a high-power magnifying glass. Only add patience in the mix to be successful.

I've fixed a lot of bent pins, but I find when they get too bent, the stress of bending them way back to where they came from can break them. I count 7 bent pins and i'd say you'll be lucky if you can fix it.. or very skilled :P For 20$ though I'd go for it if the board is a high end model.
edit: Pick up a dental pick, and it can be usefull to have 2 if you need to bend at the middle of the pin.

thats how I fixed my other motherboard I had a bit of a problem becasue my eyes are not that great and am a bit shaky at time lol
