Question Old AGP computer

Hi ! I have an old Dell Dimension 8200, it's a P4 @2ghz. And for graphic card, it's an old AGP slot. (not PCIe)
I got my hands on a more recent card (still AGP), but i was wondering something...
If i put my new graphic card, how can i get a display since there no driver installed yet ?
And, what would happen if i install the driver before putting the new card in the system ?
I know the current graphic card i run is an old MSI (nvidia). And the new one i got is an ATI (don't know the exact model though, and i looked everywhere on the card)
Any idea ? Thanks !

No worries. You will be able to use your GPU before you install the drivers for it. Just don't try gaming with it before you install the drivers.

Just put it in, boot up, uninstall old driver and install new ones.

its other way round first uninstall current video driver, but have the current driver

for other card before doing so.

boot in safe mode, un-install video adapter driver reboot in to windows to select /allow

windows default video driver to load

then shut down and swap video cards an boot in to windows

and direct to where your current video drivers for new card

more reboots but done right

Windows will just use a generic driver that works on all graphics cards in the absence of the ones intended for the card. That's how you get display without having the graphics drivers installed.
