bypass HDD password
There's an "as is" laptop available, and it has a security locked HDD (not BIOS, not Windows). Trying to gauge value, if the drive can be salvaged.
From what I can find there is a smalllll chance a piece of software or pin short can clear it, otherwise it's garbage. Has anyone successfully (or heard of) gotten past a locked drive?
Typically an HDD password is gotten around by installing another HDD. On certain laptops, there are ways to either clear or modify the password, but it is extremely dependent on the laptop model.
Format and re install OS
Since it is a netbook I'd be pretty skeptical on it offering much help.
Hyrens boot in cd or flash dive ??
There's a couple programs on Hyrens I'd consider trying, but still found a lot of people that failed with them.
Of course if I can't make the drive bootable it's mostly worthless as I'll just have a tedious storage drive.
