Thanks ranking crispy dude. No more warranty of course. It's now five years old. Just updated the firmware a few weeks ago and was speculating if that may have made it worse. /shrug

Interesting. I do not remember having this issue before. Though I did just buy a mobile home last year. Maybe the power here isn't as 'clean'?

One thing I did notice, when the volume is set to +1 most of the hissing goes away or at least is reduced in volume. Reduce the volume to 0 an bam, weird noise and hissing comes back.

When we lived in Satan's Asshole (Comox Valley :P bring it on Carny Valley Forumies :P) the power was the worst I have ever experienced and even my computer was acting funny same with our DVR and pretty much everything electrical. after a few UPS's the issues all vanished.

Once we left there we can honestly say Richmond, Calgary even Campbell River we never experienced the same issues. We would go through endless phone chargers there to but since moving not a one has failed.

I 100% recommend a UPS on your TV and Computer, its like a must have with either :)

Living there was the worse experience of my life, other then a few good places to eat and a few pockets of nice people everything there was horrible.

But again UPS all the way there is even some mini power conditioners you can get for cheap cheap cheap these days that will keep your electronics happy happy happy :P

Yeah, the worst place I ever lived was Powell River. It always felt dark and depressing. I swear nine out of ten people there were criminals.

Any suggestions on a good conditioner?

Wow see Power river is Gooch of Satan's Ass Hole just a ferry ride away and yah the two places share the stuck up a holes with a inflated sense of self worth.
